Thalian Association Community Theatre is accepting applications for part-time house attendant/box office staff at the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center. Resumes, cover letters and applications for applicants should be emailed to Samantha Chappell.

Job Description:

Attendants will perform a variety of duties in providing support to the users of the Community Arts Center. This includes opening and closing the facility, assistance for visitors & renters, event set up as needed, and some janitorial duties.

The applicant should have experience working with the public, and some knowledge of MS Office Suite would be helpful. Successful candidate must be able to work variable hours, including mornings, late evenings and weekends and pass a criminal background screening.

Preferred Qualifications and Abilities:

Experience with facility maintenance and special events organization
Positive attitude with customer service experience
Ability to move tables and chairs for event set up
Basic computer skills and MS Office Suite experience
General Duties Include:

Opening and Closing the facility, responsible for securing the building at night
Answer phones � sell tickets, register for classes, answer questions, etc.
Responsible for set up, operations and accounting in box office
Nightly accounting of box office and concessions, getting deposits ready
Stock and sell concessions, train volunteers for concession and usher duties
Maintain order and cleanliness of concession stand and public areas
Assist CAC Director and Thalian Association Executive Director as requested
Supervise activities taking place in the Community Arts Center
Post all upcoming events on Community Calendars
Set up rooms and work special events as needed, local errands
Act as representative of the Community Arts Center for users of the building
Maintenance and cleanliness of the building while on duty
Set up/break down risers, tables and chairs for special events both independently and with a team
About the Community Arts Center and the Thalian Association Community Theatre:

The Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center is owned by the City of Wilmington and managed by Thalian Association Community Theatre. The building is a historic and cultural treasure that has been the center of recreation and art for generations of local children. Today the building continues to be the home for children, art and recreation while serving as a mini museum of the Wilmington and New Hanover County WWII home front. Established in 1788, Thalian Association Community Theatre is a non-profit, membership organization dedicated to enhancing the Cape Fear region through live community theatre and arts education. Thalian Association Community Theatre produces five major productions annually on the Main Stage at historic Thalian Hall, a summer season at the Red Barn Studio and five youth theatre productions on the 2nd Street Stage in the Community Arts Center. The youth theatre program offers training and performance opportunities for children age seven through high school seniors.
