We sell our products both wholesale to gifts stores, and retail direct to consumers online. We are based in Yorktown Heights, NY, conveniently located to major roads and shops. Our Senior Bookkeeper keeps the system running smoothly by managing outgoing payments and cash influx and collecting payment from clients. We’re searching for a skilled hands-on Senior Bookkeeper. The Senior Bookkeeper will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.

 

 

Objectives and Responsibilities include: 

 

 computing charges, and refunds, and preparing and emailing invoices, charging credit cards and collecting payments.

  2.  reconciliation of payments and customer accounts.
  3.  notifying customers of insufficient payments.
  4. Communicate discrepancies to management team, 



 

  1. Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
  2. Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.



 

  1. Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
  2. Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.
  3. Filing quarterly NY State  Sales Tax 

10 . Preparing P&L and balance sheets 



 

This is an independent contractor position for a trial period of 6 months, then going to full hire. Average 40 hrs./week, billed on an hourly basis.   We are starting at 30$ an hour.

 

Senior Bookkeeper Qualifications and Skills

  1.  
  2. Ability to create and maintain up to date account roll forwards, accurately showing where an account’s payment and billing status is on any given day.
  3. Comfort working with budgets, payroll, revenue, spreadsheets, Excel forms, and forecasting.

Education and Experience Requirements

  1. Associate or bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting
  2. Deep Understanding of  principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
  3. Proficiency with Google Drive
  4. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and one of the commonly used accounting ERP systems, such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Fishbowl. 
  5. Ability to keep company and partner confidences.
  6. Superb time management and detail orientation

Excel reporting a must 

  1. Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience
