Community Synagogue of Rye Early Childhood Center is looking to fill two assistant teacher positions beginning in September 2021. This is an ideal position for an individual who has completed their bachelors degree and considering a masters degree in education
Experience with young children is preferred.
Mon thru Fri (5 days) 8:30 am-12:15 pm
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Follow basic principles of developmentally appropriate practice as defined by NAEYC.
Establish and maintain effective, working relationships with children, parents, staff and program specialists.
Is physically able to perform all duties and work in all areas of the school (this may include sitting on the floor, picking a child up, running after a child etc.)
Be respectful and exhibit a genuine nurturing and caring attitude towards children.
Nature of Work
Work with head teacher in creating a loving, safe and inspiring classroom environment conducive to the emotional, social, cognitive and physical growth of young children.
To set up and design the physical structure of the classroom that is well organized, sensory rich and physically appealing to children
Plan and organize all lessons, projects and daily activities that will encourage problem solving and basic skills needed to successfully enter kindergarten.
Facilitates activities for children both indoors and outdoors.
Shares ideas and coordinates classroom responsibilities with the head teacher
