A laid-back, active family that splits their time between sunny Puerto Rico and Newport, RI is seeking a travel-ready, calming, and energetic nanny/family assistant to support their home and 3 boys, aged 9, 7, and almost 5 years old!
This adventurous family pivoted once the pandemic hit and decided to create their own destiny by moving to Puerto Rico! They now consider the sunshine and beaches of the island to be their home base and spend the academic year here, while typically traveling back to their home in Rhode Island for summers and holidays. Their three boys are enrolled in a local independent school on the island and are studying to become bilingual in Spanish! Their interests include lacrosse, tennis, surfing, and other fun-filled activities. Mom and dad consider their home dynamic to be a “planned community” where everyone pitches in to ensure all runs smoothly in their home and their children are set up to thrive. They deeply respect work life balance and longevity in their caregivers, their previous nanny having been with them for 7 years! They are excited to find an adventurous nanny/family assistant who can be an extended member of their family unit and support their children and home for years to come.
This position is ideal for a candidate who is travel-ready and flexible, ready and excited to travel between the New England coast to the coasts of Puerto Rico! As a home with three growing boys with a love for outdoor activities, they hope for a nanny/family assistant who can take on after school activities, from supervising the boys at the beach during their surfing lessons (or joining!) to exploring the island to rooting them on in their lacrosse games. After school support will also focus on preparing simple, healthy meals for the boys and assisting with their bedtime routines. During the day while they are in school, a candidate who is ready to switch hats and provide some family assisting support will be key! Tasks may include planning those after school activities, running a few errands, calendar management, and some general light tidying. With many moving pieces in their home, the family is eager to work with a candidate who can bring their energy to the boys’ after school activities, while bringing a sense of calm and tranquility to their home and routines.
Hours/Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours/week with the general scheduling falling on Mondays through Fridays from 12pm-8pm. Flexibility for weekends, evenings, overnight care, and travel as needed with advanced notice will be asked and appreciated. Two consecutive days off/week will be provided when the weekly schedule shifts to include weekend coverage!
Live-in/Live-out: Live-in/on. Accommodations in Puerto Rico include a private bedroom and full bath with private entrance at the family’s property. In Rhode Island, a separate nanny apartment may be provided for seasonal travel should the applicant require it. A candidate with ties and/or a homebase to Rhode Island will be a plus!
Compensation and Benefits: The family is offering $25-$30/hour depending on experience in addition to benefits including a healthcare stipend, relocation assistance, and PTO.
Start Date: The position will begin as soon as the family finds the perfect fit!
