A close-knit, supportive family based in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a confident, self-directed, and creative nanny/family assistant to join their bustling home and care for their 8 and 3-year-old!
These dual-career parents currently work from home due to COVID but plan on returning to in-person work with plenty of travel in the mix once it is safe to do so. They deeply value ensuring their children are in a secure, loving environment and are passionate about continuing exploration in child development! Their 3-year-old is energetic and loves pretending to be animals, biking, and digging with his digger in the dirt outside, while his older sister is an avid reader with a penchant for sci-fi fantasy stories, Roblox, and climbing everything from trees to rocks. She is back in in-person school while her little brother will return to in-person school in the fall. The family has a TV-free home and love the outdoors, always looking forward to their next backpacking trip, skiing adventure, or trip to Lake Erie! They strive to raise their children to treat all people with respect and make sure to provide a professional, appreciative work environment for their staff (which includes a hybrid chef and housekeeper). They are seeking a nanny/family assistant who is eager to work together as a fluid team to create an enriching, supportive and intellectually curious environment for their children and family for years to come.
This position is ideal for a candidate who is organized and ready to jump in with both feet, who also has a passion for working with children and supporting their growth! As these devoted parents are team-oriented and excited to work in tandem with their caregiver, a collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills are key. While the children are in school, the role will focus on family assisting projects and supporting the home, along with proactive research on educationally-minded activities, while the afternoons will be focused on growth-minded childcare and facilitating independence and fun! An organized, all-hands-on-deck spirit with a readiness to be an extra support beam around the home will be valued. Family assisting-related tasks would include general tidying and organizing, grocery shopping and meal planning, collaborating with the family’s chef and housekeeper and jumping in with laundry or light meal prep if needed (everyone works together in this home!), managing the family’s calendar, scheduling and maintaining appointments, and more. The family hopes to find a candidate who is eager to grow in their next role for years to come!
