Materials Handler

This role is to maintain production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies and staging finished product.

Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
Prepares kits for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, palletizing, loading, and securing product.
Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections.
Weighs quantities of materials used in production processes, using balance, platform or floor scales.
Places loose or packaged material on scales and adds/removes portions of material to obtain specified weight.
Reads work order or formula to determine types and quantities of materials to weigh.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Performs quality work within deadlines under general guidance.
Interacts professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers.
Works effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
Performs physical wall to wall inventory as needed.
Performs job duties in all areas of the department as directed

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 months of experience in a Material Handler or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
High School Diploma or GED
Basic understanding of Excel/SAP systems
Knowledge of ERP systems
Speak, read and write Workplace English
Bilingual communication skills a plus

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, crawl, sit, talk, move about, hear and speak. May be required to work in restricted spaces and/or under difficult lighting and access conditions.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, and be able to use appropriate support equipment to lift and move greater amounts. Must be able to stand for approximately 8 hours.
Must be able to work independently, in a team environment, and drive projects to solution.
Operate fork truck and other material handling equipment.
Ability to climb on and off forklift repeatedly.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Employee is required to use properly use such safety equipment as is appropriate to the work to prevent injury to self or others.

Work Environment:
Noise level may be high when operating power equipment. Employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions when transporting materials.

May stay over time as needed.

Exposed to various raw materials, including allergens (i.e. milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nut, peanuts, wheat, soy).
