Social Media Internship
Smedley Events is currently accepting applications to join our team through our meaningfully engaged internship program. Our Social Media Intern will become an integral part of the success of our events while simultaneously developing the skills and knowledge to continue on their career journey.
Smedley Events is a full-service event production, experiential marketing and fundraising agency with the goal of bringing communities together through unforgettable experiences. We work with a variety of clients in the technology, restaurant and non-profit sectors, conference and meeting industry, as well as the sports and entertainment space. Beyond client work Smedley Events produces its own events centered around purposeful conversation and community building, including the Sunset Dinner Experience and the Better Together Dinner Series.
The Social Media Intern will support the growth and development of Smedley Events social media accounts as well as those of our client events. The main responsibilities of the Social Media Intern include:
Copy writing for social media posts
Work with graphic designer to create images needed for social media posts
Schedule social media posts via Hootsuite
Research new social media trends
Suggestion and implement new social media strategies
Attend select event to capture content for social media
General knowledge and experience with basic computer programs including email platforms, Google Suite and Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
General knowledge of design programs including Photoshop and InDesign
Proficiency in social media platforms to include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok
Ability to travel to events across Colorado when necessary
Interest in pursuing a career in events and/or marketing
Compensation - $15/hour with an average of 10 hours per week
