Social Media Intern

Roots of Success (ROS) is seeking a social media intern to lead our social media efforts. We envision this person working with ROS to develop and implement a social media strategy across key channels. Further, the intern will be responsible for writing ROS content, and engaging with various online communities.

Roots of Success is an empowering environmental literacy and work readiness program that prepares youth and adults from underserved communities for opportunities in the green economy, and to improve conditions in their communities. Our mission is to ensure that all people have the knowledge and skills needed to accelerate the transition to a more socially just and environmentally responsible economy and society.

Since 2010, Roots of Success has:
- Prepared almost 25,000 youth and adults for dignified, well paid work in the green economy
- Trained more than 1,700 teachers to foster environmental literacy in prisons, jails, job training and reentry programs, schools and youth programs, and other settings
- Supported hundreds of education and workforce programs throughout the United States

Internship Qualifications:
Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
Interest in building a social media strategy from the ground up
Self-motivated with ability to work independently
Highly responsible with good communication skills
Excellent writing skills
Able to work 6-12 hours/week

The Role:
Work with ROS team to develop social media strategy including calendar, stakeholder engagement and community building
Work virtually
Create and schedule content
Collaborate with ROS staff weekly
