Family Tie Records has partnered with Sub City Laboratory and Adjacent on building and operating a new music recording studio located in San Francisco on Market St.

We are looking for motivated individuals to help transition the studio over to our management, and learn the inner workings of a recording studio from booking, to running sessions, to delivering final mixes to the client.

This internship may evolve into qualified, professional music/audio training from our engineers, and paid engineering opportunities.

Time Commitment:
On call, anywhere from 5-15 hours a week. Mostly evening hours, though all hours of the day are workable.
You will decide your availability and may take advantage of as many hours as you�d like.

Early work includes:
Setting up and configuring of new recording equipment
Digital and physical file organization and maintenance
Adoption of management systems and protocol
Clean up of office and storage space

Further work includes:
Pre recording session setup. i.e. set up of microphones, cables, computer/DAW
Shadowing of engineer�s during recording sessions
Recording and Mix engineer training
Consistent upkeep of the studio
Any other special scenario work that may arise in the nature of a recording studio

Note, this is not a paid internship, though this opportunity is designed to massage you into a paid recording engineer or studio assistant.

This is a 3 or 6 month internship depending on your pace and availability
