Media Communications Intern

Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for two highly creative Media Communication Interns to join us in either our Washington, D.C. office or remotely during the Fall semester. As the Media Communications Intern, you will work with the Media Communications Team. In this role, you will report to the Senior Strategic Communications Manager and work to craft social media campaign strategies for cases, monitor public responses to posts on social media platforms, attend media training sessions with attorneys and clients, and assist in other public relations projects and events. You will have the opportunity to write for ADF’s commentary page. This internship provides a great introduction to the public relations world for someone who is considering exploring a career in public relations, policy, or law. Opportunities for creative and entrepreneurial thinking are welcome and attendance at area events is encouraged. Remote work is an option.

The ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented, inquisitive, confident, and able to execute on a task/project/idea creatively, thoroughly, and with excellence all the way through to completion.

This is an unpaid internship. Only applicants requiring an internship for academic credit will be considered. Please include internship details and requirements from your college in your application.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

- Craft social media campaign strategies for cases
- Monitor public response to posts on ADF’s Social Media Platforms
- Attend media training sessions with attorneys and clients
- Build press lists
- Write for ADF’s Commentary page
- Assist in other ADF Media Relations projects and events

Education and/or experience:

- Majoring or otherwise interested in Journalism, Public Policy, Law, Government, Public Relations, or Strategic Communications.
- Interest or experience in advocating for the right of people to freely live out their faith.
