The Brokerage Sales Intern role is an exciting opportunity to both learn the transportation industry and assist Account Executives in sourcing leads and new business opportunities for our logistics division. Summary of Position:
Cowan Systems is looking for a hardworking sales minded college student to join our Sales Team as an intern. The Brokerage Sales Intern will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the Logistics industry. While learning about Cowan and the industry, the Sales Intern will also help existing sales reps at Cowan with prospecting and lead generation. The position will involve researching potential prospects and conducting initial cold outreach to engage new business opportunities for Cowan’s Account Executive sales team. This role serves in a sales capacity and will require a strong work ethic, good organization, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ø Research new prospects in target industries
Ø Cultivate new sales leads to establish business
Ø Follow up with dormant accounts and prospects
Ø Responsible for securing calls and RFP’s from new prospects
Ø Achieve individual, team, and company goals
Ø Work closely with Account Executive team to ensure you are targeting the right prospects.
Skills & Requirements:
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Extremely organized and detail oriented
• Must possess a strong work ethic
• Strong communication (both verbal and written), problem solving, and decision making skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
