Skalawag Productions is a creative full-service video production company that creates branded content for a diverse client base; from food & beverage, lifestyle pieces, to non-profit and educational projects. We are a five-person team seeking an intern interested in learning the ins and out’s of small business video production, with a focus on post-production and assistant editing.
General Job Description
Internship position geared toward a candidate with a strong interest in post-production who would like to gain exposure to real-world, hands-on experience in our daily workflow; from pre-production through post-production. The intern will be treated as a professional and work alongside our team with in-depth learning opportunities offering insights from project launch through final delivery. This is an in-person, minimum 20 hours per week position with a start date of September 7, 2022.
Pay: $14/hour
Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Assistant Editing: learning best practices in a professional post-production environment. Preparing project files for the editor, syncing footage, transcoding, logging, pulling selects, and creating assembly edits, with potential lead editor opportunities for certain projects.
- Motion GFX: potential basic gfx assignments commensurate with experience
- Preparation of social media content
Additional Duties/Responsibilities
- Pre-production opportunities: Sitting in on concept development meetings and scriptwriting, exposure to scheduling and producing tasks, etc.
- Production assistance on set
- General studio upkeep
- Occasional clerical duties and additional tasks as requested
Requirements
- Passion for visual storytelling
- Organized, responsible, and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Basic video editing experience
- Willingness to Learn
- Familiarity with the video production process
Nice-to-Haves
- Excellent design sense & basic animation fundamentals
- Experience in motion graphics techniques using Adobe After Effects CC
- Knowledge of Adobe Prelude
- Interest in Food & Beverage
