Background
As a member of the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY),
Helping Hand International was first established in 2016 in India, and works on youth
empowerment, capacity building, awareness advocacy, social activism, humanitarian
engagements, and global partnerships for the SDGs. The Switzerland Branch was
founded in November 2020, working under this main vision with specific focus on:
equity (especially gender and race), access to policy making and justice, human
rights, civil participation, health awareness (especially COVID-19), income
generation, education, environmental protection, promoting the mentality of peace,
and cultivating a next generation of righteous leaders. Through local efforts and
collaboration with global partners and other HHI branches, HHI Switzerland
contributes to rights protection, shared prosperity, and sustainable development via
people-centered and result-focused initiatives.
As part of our Internship Program, we are looking for a Human Resources Officer to
join our Management Team, The HR Officer will be responsible for posting job
opportunities and screening and assisting with interviewing candidates. They will
prepare contracts . They would ensure appropriate record-keeping. They may be
asked, based on their interest, to assist in other projects such as proposal
submission or fundraising .
This position reports to the President, working in collaboration with the HHI
Switzerland Global Partnerships Team, and Management Team. Through this
internship program, you will have an invaluable opportunity to work alongside with
global youth leaders and professional experts coming from reputable organizations
and institutions across fields, such as the United Nations, to learn more about youth
empowerment for the SDGs, and make your contributions in creating a bright future.

Position : Internship - Human Resources Officer
Location : Geneva; remote work possible
Duration : 6 months; part-time
Payment : Unpaid
Primary Responsibilities:
● Assist in the recruitment process, keeping track of staff (volunteers, interns),
preparing employee contracts, managing the onboarding and offboarding process
● Maintain administrative duties such as taking meeting minutes, scheduling
interviews and meetings, keeping policies up to date
● Take ownership of the online system administration and filing system, both paper
and virtual, to ensure it is all up to date and intuitive
● Assist and collaborate with project proposal preparation, by bringing ideas,
proof-reading and/or assisting with translation to or from English
Required Qualifications:
Currently studying a degree in Human Resources, Management, Administration or
a similar field,
Experience in program management and related functional areas, ideally at
international level, with experience in NGO is a plus.
Experience working with high-profile professionals, including government
officials and international organizational leaders preferred.
Excellent drafting, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
Excellent attention to details.
English language proficiency required; proficiency in other languages are plus.
Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and Google Suite.
Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
Fluent in English both written and spoken. French would be an asset
Detail-oriented, good organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team
environment
