Tompkins Community Bank is an ideal place to start your Human Resources career. This position is aimed to provide project work, on-the-job training and related development to HR professionals and future leaders dedicated to the Human Resources profession.

Our HR intern will participate in project development meetings, a variety of company events, all intended to reinforce the Core Values of the Internship Program – Education, Innovation, Leadership, Collaboration and Service.


Responsibilities:

Assisting the HR team with projects, overseeing the development and facilitation of entrusted projects
Assisting with day to day HR duties event planning support and HR Information System (HRIS) updates and reporting
Developing partner relationships with employees
Organizing and participating in team building events and company happenings
Furthering HR knowledge, developing advanced project management & presentation skills, and enhancing communication skills
Experience working on a wide variety of HR projects


Qualifications:

Our Human Resource Internship Program focuses on hiring a rising undergraduate/graduate student who meets most or all of the following:

Current full-time undergraduate or graduate student
Pursuing a degree in a related HR discipline, as well as a genuine interest in the HR field
Excellent problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new technologies/systems, experience with MS Office & Smartsheets
Ability to be flexible, resourceful, quick to learn and adapt to change while maintaining confidentiality
Some experience in an office environment, preferred


Benefits of working in our Human Resources department:

$17.25 an hour
37.5 work-week (Monday- Friday) for a period of up to 12 weeks.
Developing experience working on a wide variety of HR projects
