Howe Corporation is adding Engineering Intern to the team. Howe is manufacturer of commercial and industrial ice machines. Qualified candidates are dynamic self-starters, with interest in applied engineering in a manufacturing environment.

About the Internship

As an Engineering Intern, you will:

• Contribute to engineering projects and activities
• Utilize your 3D modeling and skills to resolve design issues or design new parts
• Learn more about machining, castings, sheet metal, welding, molded plastic components
• Learn more about the refrigeration cycle
• Complete refrigeration testing for commercial icemaking applications
• Process, analyze, and present refrigeration test data
• Potentially earn a part time position

JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Title: Engineering Intern
Reports To: Senior Project Engineer
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with tasks in engineering design projects
• Provide support in engineering for refrigeration testing and data analysis
• Collaborate with shop floor and suppliers

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Detail orientated
• Any experience in machining or fabrication is a plus
• Data processing experience a plus

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND LEVEL OF SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
• 3D-CAD modeling (Solidworks Preferred)
• Excel

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Completed Junior Year with GPA 3.0+
• Participation in design teams or design projects is a plus
• Research experience is a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to lift boxes of up to 30 pounds
• Ability to sit in front of a computer for 8 hours per day
