This position is part of the Alaska Fellows Program. All fellows live together, “in community,” in their respective host site. Each host site is unique and remarkable.

Fellows receive housing, a $1150 monthly living stipend and a $500 relocation stipend. The fellowship includes facilitated and funded opening and closing retreats.

This position will be responsible for providing high-level customer service in response to all customer, partner, and stakeholder inquiries and leads. This position will provide direct service to the local community, including but not limited to recruitment, outreach, and implementing local community relations processes in coordination with statewide plans, while being particularly mindful of the Alaska Native people, land and cultures where we operate.

One of the primary roles of this position will be to engage the community and grow/strengthen partnerships with stakeholders through presentations and events as well as stewarding current local donors. The Community Coordinator Fellow will attend community meetings and events, engage with staff in thoughtful conversations about Volunteer and Youth recruitment strategies, and help identify new partners to grow our program across the Anchorage area.
Using our Recruitment/Retention Plan, this position will also work with the team to plan implement monthly match activities (virtual and in-person) for our Anchorage matches. This will include collaborating with co-workers, planning and implementing the event, interacting with matches at the event and engaging volunteers throughout the process.
This position will also be involved with revitalizing our discounts/in-kind donations program for matches. This will involve developing a list of potential partners, reaching out to those partners to introduce the discounts/in-kind donations for matches program, coordinate logistics and then keep an updated list for staff to utilize with their matches.
This position will be based in Anchorage and will primarily telecommute/work from home. The Community Coordinator Fellow will be provided with necessary equipment (computer, extra monitor, mouse, keyboard) for working remotely. Hours are typically 9-5 Monday-Friday, however, occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
