Background to Centre for Citizens Conserving (CECIC)
CECIC is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting the sustainable management of the environment and natural resources in Uganda and the Great Lakes Region. Through lobbying, research, and community education, CECIC works with government, communities, and local leaders to ensure that natural resources are utilized in a way that promotes equitable development, environmental conservation, and respect for human rights.
Who is this role suitable for?
We are looking for an individual who shows passion and interest in communication and social media. This role is particularly suitable for a university or college student looking for a placement, or a recent graduate looking for the first-hand experience with writing, communication, and online platforms.
The hours of commitment required each week will vary, but will not exceed 8 hours. We are looking for someone who has already begun to develop their skills, particularly in managing social media and producing content.
Managing all our social media sites.
Communicating with our team about content for social media, our website, and newsletters.
Writing creative content, relatable to our audiences (both local and international), based on the work of CECIC.
Write, edit and proofread the organization�s important documents.
To complete all tasks set by you and your supervisor on time.
For work to be kept to a high and consistent standard.
Trust and confidentiality with any sensitive data or information.
What we will provide
Occasional field updates on what is currently working.
Certification of completing time as a CECIC volunteer.
