Basic Function: The Warehouse and Logistics Manager has two primary areas of responsibility. The first is the management of the ReStore stock room and sorting operation. The second is management of the retrieval of the donated products, including management of the dispatcher, truck drivers and trucks. The employee should be a self-starter who works well with minimal supervision and get’s things done.
Warehouse and Logistics Manager Responsibilities:
o Organize and optimize the inbound product receiving process.
o Maintain a VERY clean and operational stock room area.
o Work with the Volunteer Manager and ReStore Manager to adequately staff the stockroom.
o Assist the Retail Manager with pricing and product movement.
o Insure the schedule is set and the trucks are picking up the donations, engaging with the donors and communicating with the dispatcher.
o Work with the dispatcher to insure the drivers are communicating appropriately with the donors.
o Insure the dispatch position is properly staffed and trained.
o Assist the ReStore Manager with the recruitment of quality drivers.
o Implement continual “scenario” training to insure the drivers are very well trained.
o Schedule the trucks and drivers to insure rapid pick ups.
o Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical aspects of the trucks.
o Work with the ReStore Manager to insure that all drivers and dispatch personnel are properly trained.
o Implement a continuous training program that test the quality of the skills of each driver and dispatcher, so their skills can be further enhanced.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Proficient with a computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must have a positive can do attitude and be able to get things done.
• Must be good with managing people
