Teacher - Early Childhood Education

Children’s Home & Aid invites you to join our team of mission-driven staff who share a common vision: an equitable world where all children and families thrive in strong communities. As a leading child and family service agency with more than 20 locations across Illinois, our mission is to advance the well-being of children by investing in families to disrupt the systemic and multi-generational cycle of racial, social and economic inequality.

Our full-time staff receive competitive salaries and a generous benefits package, including a paid leave accrual rate that starts at two weeks annually and grows to more than five weeks of paid time off each year. We hold ourselves and each other accountable for fostering an inclusive work culture where we can be our authentic selves, where we create and have equitable opportunities, and where our voices are supported and encouraged.

The Early Childhood Teacher is a critical member of the Scott Early Learning Center team, using Creative Curriculum® to enhance the physical, emotional, and cognitive growth of children through play and hands-on experiences. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will develop individualized lesson plans and meet with parents to support the best outcomes for your students. As the only Early Childhood Center in McLean County with both COA and NAEYC accreditation and ExceleRate Gold Circle of Quality designation, you’ll be proud to be part of the Scott ELC team, and with our cohesive team style and supportive, high quality supervision, you’ll look forward to coming back each day.

*Complete applicable screenings and evaluations, and document results.
*Develop relationships with parents and families and encourage their involvement in the early childhood education program.
*Actively supervise and ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in both classroom and outdoor settings.
*Maintain student portfolios, including timely tracking and documentation of program activities and assessments.

Who you are:

*You have at least an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. (Or an Associate’s in another field with 18 credit hours of ECE coursework.)
*You strongly believe that social skills, self-regulation, and emotional development are just as important as reading and math readiness in successfully preparing children for kindergarten.
*You have a warm, open communication style and can easily build rapport with both children and adults.
*You are attentive to detail, organized, and self-motivated.
*You enjoy working collaboratively with a team to reach shared goals.
