Child's Play School is looking for a Child Care Lead Teacher starting April 2023.

Role
The Child Care Lead Teacher ensures the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social and physical needs as well as their educational needs. The Child Care Lead Teacher has an awareness of the unique needs of young children and utilize developmentally appropriate practices to support their growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
� Be the primary caregiver for four children in the classroom
� Assist children with activities of daily life (e.g., restroom use, diapering, hand washing)
� Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
� Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
� Approach parents daily and speak with them about their child
� Supervise and mentor teacher aides, ensuring they are following program policy and directing them as to what duties need to be carried out throughout the day
� Conduct child assessments and facilitate parent-teacher conferences

Key Skills of the Ideal Candidate
� 12 core semester units � 3 semester units related to infant care
� 2+ years experience in a licensed Child Care Center with children under age 5 years
� Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a similar field (preferred but not required)
� Well versed in tracking childhood development, establishing classroom structure/norms and creating curriculum/lesson plans
� Ability to handle a room full of squirmy children
� Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
� Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solutions-oriented perspective
� Excellent written and verbal communication skills
� Friendly and approachable demeanor
� Maintain a professional appearance, attitude and work ethic at all times
� Commitment to understanding and articulating the mission/vision, program and activities of Child's Play
� Bilingual (preferred but not required)
� Complete 16 hours of health and safety training
� Proof of current immunizations, including MMR and DtaP along with negative TB test

Compensation
Child's Play offers competitive benefits and salary for this role ($48,000-53,000 DOE). Benefits include paid holidays (~10) and breaks (5 weeks), 10 days paid time off (PTO), health, dental and vision benefits (50% employer paid), 401(k) retirement plan, and professional development stipend.
