Solar Panel Installation Technicians are the technicians who are trained in the process of maintaining, repairing, and maintenancing of solar systems for the effective functioning of a solar power generation system post-installation.
Pay will be $20-$25 an hour depending on experience. Must have valid driver�s license.
We are looking for someone with these skill sets: pays attention to detail, has great detailed communication skills, critical thinking skills, and a willingness to solve uncommon issues with a basic knowledge of troubleshooting. Vigilance, resourcefulness, and self-confidence are required in problem solving and determining the next steps in fixing these inverters, microinverters, and optimizers. Teamwork is the key to job completion so one must be a teamplayer.
Work hours are mostly consistent, but may include extended, earlier hours depending on the job demands for the day. The hours are determined by job length so the workday may vary. 30-40 hours a week is common, and we will train you.
The job may include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules, bird cleaning, nest removal, gutter cleaning, and installing critter guards. Our technicians also perform minor electrical work such as voltage checks on various solar equipment. Any and all electrical work needed to connect solar system to electric grid including proper grounding systems, controls and all testing necessary may be required.
Also, a technician may be required to educate homeowners on solar systems, check wires, and inspect panels, combiner boxes, and inverters using a smart phone device to log into systems to view monitoring, errors, production issues, or faults. Emailing out information between admin and our partners. We do solar system removals for new roofs and then reinstall them with the panels and associated hardware used for repairing squirrel damaged systems. Panel replacement, inverter swap outs of optimizers and microinverters are almost daily jobs.
