Hiring position:

Belmont Solar is seeking an energetic individual to join our team full-time as a Solar PV Installer. This position will involve tasks such as prepping the roof or ground mount site; running wires; installing rails and solar panels; connecting meters, inverters, disconnects, panels, and routers; meeting with inspectors; and so much more.

Belmont Solar is a Lancaster-based solar installer, and we deliver turnkey renewable energy systems for residential, commercial, farm, and institutional facilities. We are one of a very few renewable energy companies in PA offering a comprehensive line of products, services and solutions including Grid-tie, Grid-tie with battery backup, and Off-grid solutions. We are a growing company looking to expand our services and enter new markets.
As a business, we begin work at 7:00AM, and our PM finish time is flexible. We also have flexible hours (40 to 50 hours per week), and frequent travel is required.

Our requirements for a Solar PV Installer:

1. Skilled: Must be motivated, mechanically inclined person who has the ability to handle daily physical labor. The applicant should have a background in a construction-related or mechanical position such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or other technical experience. An ability to read blue prints and use hand-tools is also required.
2. Stewardship Mindset: The applicant should care about creation, sustainability, and clean renewable energy.
3. Techy: The applicant should have a love for technology, science, and understanding how things work. We rely on technology to help the homeowner visualize the benefit of their system. They can track on their phone how the system is performing!
4. Growth Mindset: The applicant should have an eagerness to learn, as well as set goals and work towards them. The applicant should also look for opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
5.Team Player: The applicant should have excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to serve others on the team. The applicant should also be humble enough to admit mistakes and driven to do a great job. Honest, trustworthy, respectable to fellow team members.
6. Fun: Some days we hardly know we are at work. We enjoy the challenge and rewards of installing these systems! Our customer’s eyes light up when they see their system turn on.
7. Problem Solver: Every project is different and presents new challenges & problems to solve! This is not a job for someone who wants to do the same thing all day every day. It does require a lot of learning bandwidth capability.
8. Active: The applicant must be able to lift 75 lbs, climb a ladder, use hand tools, work on a roof, navigate crawl spaces, run wiring, etc.
9. Reliable: The applicant should be on time for work, have a clean and good driving record, and be a contributor to the team!
What does a Solar PV Installer do?

• Load the truck and trailer with supplies
• Travel with the crew to the job site
• Prep the roof or ground mount site
• Run wires for the system
• Install rails and solar panels
• Attach wire connectors to the panels
• Connect to the meters, inverter, disconnect, panel, and router
• Cover and label the equipment
• Meet with the inspector
• Test the system and explain/show the customer how to operate
• Return back to the shop, unload the truck and turn in any paperwork to the office
• Learn to install grid tied and off grid systems, as well as roof mounted and ground mounted systems

Full-time:
Year-round hours averaging 40-50 hours per week (weather permitting)

Pay Rate:
$20.00 to $27.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Schedule:
Day shift
Monday to Friday

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience:
Electrical Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
Construction Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
