Global Packaging is growing, and we are excited to be adding Press Helpers to our team throughout 2023! If you are a safety focused, reliable worker with a high attention to detail who can use a ruler or tape measure to measure to 1/16th of an inch or millimeter, then this may be the job for you!

Hours:

Overnight 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM
Work in a 4/3 rotation: Work 4 days, off 3 days, work 3 days off 4 days.
Pay: Weekly pay!!

Starting rate at $15/hour, could be higher with relevant experience

We are hiring Press Helpers who are reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since tasks require working closely with Press Operators. The goal for Press Helpers is to ensure that production procedures are followed safely and efficiently.

In general, Press Helpers produce high quality printed material using flexographic printing presses ensuring compliance with customer specifications for each job. You'll be expected to meet or exceed production goals and to follow all safety programs, policies and procedures.

Efficiently perform job set ups meeting established quality criteria.
Use instrumentation and process equipment to aid in efficient change over’s.
Complies with customer specifications for each job, measuring bags as specified and checking quality as required.
Meets or exceeds production expectations for each job produced while minimizing material waste.
Complies with standard operating procedures, quality procedures and safety procedures.
Accurately records production data as required.
Reports any equipment issues or non-conforming product issues to supervisor.
Cleans up press, returning inks and solvents to ink room, placing used shop towels in designated area.
Assists with preventive maintenance.
Ability to cross train and work on any printing press, or to work in other departments as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Ability to use a ruler or tape measure to measure in Imperial and metric increments. Must be able to measure to 1/16th of an inch and in millimeters.
Capable of color match visually and using colorimetric instrumentation.
Must have good trouble shooting skills.
Ability to learn, navigate and use all proprietary company and equipment software.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with customers and other employees.
Must possess excellent skills in working in a team environment.
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience as a Press Helper / Assistant on a flexo printing press would set you apart
Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described for Press Helpers are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the Press Helper is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear, and use standard business equipment, such as computers, calculators, copying and fax machines. The Press Helper is occasionally required to bend, kneel, climb, push/pull, reach, overhead reach, grasp or crouch. Must be able to work with and around press chemicals (solvents, inks) and occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Must be able to operate push buttons and move plate sleeves. Must be able to work around electricity and in small spaces. Must be able to stand for 12 hour shifts and to work in non-climate controlled environment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Some heavy lifting and using pallet jack equipment to move full skids required.
