As a PE instructor, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and assessment of students ranging from Kindergarten through 8th grade. The physical education instructor will have access to our gym and playground.
-Be supportive of a faith-filled Catholic environment in both words and actions.
-Assist with instruction for students with diverse needs and have a willingness to implement the necessary accommodations in order to help them be successful.
-Possess knowledge of the California Physical Education curriculum and content standards.
-Cover assigned staff duties, including recess and lunch, as well as other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the school administration.

The Athletic Coordinator directs all athletic activities, supervises the coordination of all athletic events and manages the athletic department budget. The Athletic Coordinator serves as the liaison with the DSJCAL Central Division League.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Revises annually the Athletic Department Handbook.
-Creates, distributes, and collects the Sports Participation Forms from all athletes (5th-8th grades).
-Selects all coaches for each athletic team.
-Meets with all coaches to discuss rules and school regulations three times per year; Fall (flag football, girls volleyball), Winter (boys and girls basketball), Spring (girls flag football, boys volleyball and track).
-Meets with 5th grade parents and all new parents in September to review the Athletic Department Handbook.
-Attends a monthly Athletic Directors League wide meeting. Discussion of league matters with all of DSJCAL Central Athletic Directors.
-Completes and submits DSJCAL Central Division Team Commitment form three times a year (fall, winter, and spring).
-Once the league schedule is issued in each sport, prepares the practice and game schedule for all teams and distributes the schedule to all coaches, parents, and players.
-Posts team rosters and tournament brackets.
-Supervises the gameday crew to run the home games in the gym and on the field.
-Purchases and maintains all athletic equipment and uniforms. Distributes at season�s beginning and collects at season�s end all uniforms from the student athletes.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:
-Act as a role model of professionalism in a Catholic environment.
-Support the philosophy, policies, and goals of the school, as well as the decisions made by the Principal and Administrators.
-Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all students.
-Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the parent/student handbook and employee handbook.
-Work as part of a team.
-Attend faculty, administrative, and all other meetings as needed.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor�s degree is required.
If a candidate does not presently have a valid CA teaching credential they will be required to obtain one within a time period prescribed by the Diocese of San Jose.
Previous experience working with student athletes and holding a leadership role.

Salary is determined by the Diocese of San Jose teacher salary scale.
