An adventurous, loving family is seeking a travel-ready, joyful nanny to join their family and help care for their 4-year-old and 2-year-old boys in Santa Cruz and Nantucket for a 6-month contract!
Location: The family will be spending August through September in Nantucket, and the rest of the contract in Santa Cruz!
Ages of children: 4 and 2-year-old boys
Start date/Contract dates: Mid-August 2022 through mid-January 2023
Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 50 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 6:30pm. Flexibility to travel is key!
Compensation: The family is offering $30/hour based on the 50-hour/week schedule, which equates to a base compensation of $43k for the 6-month contract, dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule.
Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, paid sick days, health insurance stipend, relocation assistance, and a vehicle for use while on duty.
Live-in/Live-out: Live-in, the family will provide a private bedroom and nearby shared bathroom. The family is happy to prioritize offering private and separate space during the candidate’s off.
Household Dynamic:
The family spends their summers in Nantucket and splits the rest of the year in Maui and Santa Cruz. As their eldest is incredibly curious, active, and receptive to the moods of those around him, the family hopes to find a nanny who loves teaching new skills or providing novel experiences. The youngest is an active bundle of joyful smiles, who equally enjoys “attackles” from his brother, riding his scooter, and learning new words.
Both parents are entrepreneurs who work remotely full-time and have introduced more flexibility into their schedules in order to maximize family time and exciting adventures.
A love for the outdoors and an active lifestyle will go a long way in this role as this family loves to explore. They’ve found that an extra pair of hands can be a valuable addition to a paddleboard or snowshoeing adventure!
Ideal candidate:
This position is ideal for a candidate who brings upbeat energy and creativity and leads with love. Comfort with traveling, adaptability, a go-with-the-flow mentality, and enthusiasm for last-minute plans will help a candidate thrive in this role. Experience with toddlers and preschool-aged children will be valued along with an in-depth knowledge of developmental milestones to assist in bolstering their children’s love of learning. A willingness to pitch in with family assisting tasks, like healthy meal prep for the kids during the day, grocery shopping, and help with laundry and light tidying up will be appreciated when time permits.
While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has live-in nanny experience! A nanny who is excited to take advantage of their travels to implement creative, educational, and fun activities for their children that utilize the local environment will be a wonderful addition to their team.
Qualifications:
3 years of professional childcare experience
??Valid driver’s license and passport
Experience traveling with families as a nanny
Flexible and willing to travel frequently both internationally and domestically
Strong swimmer and comfortable caring for children in and around water, including oceans and swimming pools, with knowledge of water safety
Experience with toddlers and preschool-aged children and knowledge of developmental milestones
Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
