A playful, bi-coastal family of three is seeking an engaging, warm-hearted nanny to join them in caring for their 2-year-old son as they prepare to spend the next year in NYC!
Location: New York, NY and Los Angeles, CA
Ages of children: nearly 2 years old
Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the perfect fit!
Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling 5 days/week between 8am-4pm including weekends off whenever possible. Flexibility to offer 50-60 hour/week coverage during the family’s busiest work weeks with advanced notice will be asked and appreciated. A candidate who is open to traveling for vacation-style and professional travel will be essential!
Compensation: The family is offering $30-40/hour based on the 40-60 hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $80-100k/year range dependent on experience and the agreed upon schedule. The family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays,a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
Live-in/Live-out: Live-in or live-out. In LA, the family is happy to offer a carriage house on their property as nanny accommodation. In NYC, the family may be open to securing private, separate housing near their home for the perfect relocation candidate. They look forward to designing an accomodation and benefits package that supports both family and candidate as well as their travel needs.
Household dynamic:
These heart-filled parents describe their son and friendly dog as their safe haven amidst the craziness of the world! At nearly 2 years old, their son is described by his parents as being “a legend and a ham”, who is extremely playful, funny, curious, bright, and talkative. He is big on hugs, kisses, and cuddles (and roughhousing!), is obsessed with cars, Elmo, reading books, playing outside, and loves singing Beatles songs.
While they are bi-coastal and frequently visit their home in Los Angeles, the family will be planted in NYC for the upcoming year, and would love if a candidate were willing to move back to LA at the end of their tenure in New York. These parents lead with their hearts, and value fostering an environment of kindness, honesty, listening, and authenticity in their home. The family describes themselves as being silly and lively- they’re not afraid to get loud or weird and are constantly joking, singing, dancing, and playing instruments. Both parents work in creative professions and are in and out of the home during the day depending on their schedules. They try to foster a safe, fun, and warm environment at home. Though they love to be silly, they enjoy quiet time together as a family reading, enjoying meals, and taking time to recharge. They are excited to find a vibrant, warm nanny who can join their family in caring for their sweet son!
Ideal candidate:
This position is ideal for someone who is excited to be a pillar of support to first-time parents and join this family in starting their village! The family is excited to find a candidate who exudes joy and playfulness, while being a safe and supportive caregiver for their son. Because this family is bi-coastal, a candidate who is excited to live in both NYC and Los Angeles will be preferred!
Responsibilities include creating activities for a growing toddler and ensuring a stimulating environment for their son to grow and thrive, child-related housekeeping, laundry, and meal prep, light family assisting duties and pet care, as well as pitching in around the house to keep things neat and organized. A candidate who is an experienced traveler will be valued, as the family travels between NYC and LA, as well as other destinations throughout the year.
A candidate with a background or interest in early childhood education who can bring their proactive, playful, engaging, and collaborative spirit to each day will be essential. The family looks forward to building a strong partnership with their new nanny and seeks a teammate to join them in caring for their son!
Qualifications:
3 years of professional childcare experience
Valid passport is required; driver’s license is strongly preferred
Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones
Experience traveling with families and children preferred
Presently located within commutable distance to Lower Manhattan is strongly preferred
Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care.
