Job description
Mechanical Technicians Tier 1 assist in performing preventive & predictive maintenance and repairs of material handling equipment and conveyor systems.
Responsibilities:
Assist Lead Technician
Primarily perform Mechanical and Lubrication tasks on automated packaging and distribution equipment.
Utilizes working knowledge and experience to troubleshoot and repair material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, maintaining automated conveyor systems, lubrication, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
Repairs and preventive maintenance on conveying systems, power transmissions, and other power-driven rotating equipment. Repairs and preventive maintenance to be performed in conformance with established standards.
Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards/work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
Requirements:
� Basic Knowledge of Machine Control and Guidance operation.
� Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical components.
� Be able to demonstrate technical, mechanical, and troubleshooting abilities.
� Provide exceptional customer service.
� Professional communication, and basic computer skills.
� Reliable means of transportation.
Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including on-call weekends. Will require on-road travel to remote site locations as demanded by the job.
Typical Physical Activity:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds from the floor to chest; reach and use the arms with a full range of motion; endure prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting while performing mechanical operations; exert push and pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools; endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations; use hands to grasp hand tools and parts and climb onto and operate the equipment.
Typical Environmental Conditions:
The employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of dust, dirt, grease, and oil. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places.
Starting Pay: $28/hr +, depending on skills and experience
