We’re looking for an energetic and passionate Sous Chef to assist in the preparation of meals and ensure food safety. To be successful in this role, you should have exceptional leadership skills, as you’ll coordinate food-related tasks with other kitchen staff. As a Sous Chef, your goal is to produce appealing meals that meet customer requirements by planning, organizing and controlling all food-related activities in the kitchen. You should also plan the use of ingredients and other resources to keep costs down.

Responsibilities:

Work under the executive chef to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
Organize and manage staff, training and scheduling.
Supervise day-to-day operations, including service, food quality, safety and customer satisfaction.
Oversee cleaning and stock take of kitchen equipment and inventory.
Order ingredients and supplies necessary for maintaining kitchen operations.
Maintain health and safety standards in the kitchen and dining area.
Ensure adherence to sanitation, HACCP standards and local regulations.
Prepare food and beverages according to recipes.
Prepare special dishes or orders according to customers’ requests.
Assist executive chef in managing kitchen staff.
Participate in hiring of new staff.
Oversee inventory of ingredients and supplies.
Assist in preparation of financial reports.
