Lifeguard
The City of Walnut Creek is looking to hire friendly and compassionate lifeguards for our year-round aquatic facilities. We offer very flexible schedules, a strong family atmosphere, and real world customer service experience. Pay starts at $16/hr
Lifeguards will participate in fast paced, energetic trainings focused on first responder, public safety, and team building skills.
During day to day procedures lifeguards will ensure the safety of all patrons, complete daily tasks, and practice safety skills. Then there’s some leftover down-time to read your favorite book or get paid to complete your homework, or balance your family’s budget! All staff accrue paid sick-leave.
All applicant’s should be strong, confident swimmers. Lifeguard Certification is required, but we do have an upcoming low cost lifeguard certification course. For students that sign-on to work with the City for at least 10 hours a week for 3 months the cost of certification is only $50.
The course will be held December 28th – 30th from 9:00am – 5:00pm. In order to be eligible to take the course you must have an application on file, and complete the lifeguard training pre-requisites. First a 300 yard swim (12 laps) and then applicants must obtain a 10lb brick from the bottom of our 16ft diving well.
All applicants are required to submit proof of COVID Vaccination.
