KiddoOne is an independent outdoor early childhood education program originated from the Silicon Valley Bay Area, California serving preschoolers.

KiddoOne is a program built for its students. Our purpose is to have each child grow through life experiences and nature. Children are curious by nature, so providing a space where children can explore and learn is what we do best. We here at KiddoOne believe that children can learn through nature and play.

Job Description

KiddoOne is seeking multiple full-time/part-time lead teachers with a deep understanding of Early Childhood Education, a love of working with young children, and the enthusiasm and energy to lead our outdoor ECE program.

Job Duties

CLASS TEACHING

Tailoring instructions to students learning levels to increase learning, nurturing each unique child with respect, and modeling healthy behavior
Curriculum development and creation of the daily routine
Purchase of supplies needed for class
The teacher ensures the health and safety of students on site?
End of semester reports are made when applicable
Training the assistant teacher and chaperone based on the school safety policy
MEETING AND TRAINING

Attending faculty meetings once a week
Participating in Child Development Study
Attending faculty retreats
Participating in Training and Peer Mentorship/Review
COMMUNICATION

The teacher works collectively and responsibly with the school
The teacher should check all school emails regularly and respond accordingly
The teacher should keep open communication with parents in both verbal and written way
The teacher sets dates for parent-teacher conferences
The teacher provides new parent orientation? following the Parent Handbook document
ENROLLMENT AND RECRUITMENT

The teacher should participate in school’s community engagement and events
Hosting open houses
SITE MAINTENANCE

The teacher is responsible for set up and clean up of the class space as well as coordinating efforts to restore impact to land monthly
The teacher makes requests to the Site Working Group for infrastructure and repairs needed
Job Requirements

2-3 years of ECE Teaching experience required
12 ECE units desirable
Capable of managing a group of up to 12 children independently
Capable of working with children needing individual attention as well as guide an entire group
Willing to implement key education elements, including but not limited to: painting, drawing, craft/handwork, woodwork, cooking, gardening, singing, storytelling, puppetry, circle and movement work.
Ability to facilitate healthy play dynamics
Highly organized and self-starter
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Supervise assistants and facilitate their growth as teachers through modeling and mentoring
Passion in parenting education and parent collaboration
Experience and/or interest in co-operative education a plus
Be able to drive throughout the Bay Area with valid driver license and operating car
First Aid/CPR certification; Background check
Knowledge and experience in Wilderness and Nature Science is preferred
