Lead teachers are responsible for implementing the child development center program. Lead teachers develop and provide a nurturing and responsive learning environment that meets the needs of enrolled children.

Responsibilities:
Create classroom curriculum and schedule and submit to appropriate management staff for approval Gather observations and data to assess children’s development Supervise children at all times, ensuring that each child is receiving adequate care and progressing developmentally, academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, etc. Supervise classroom assistants and volunteers as necessary Discover children’s God-given gifts, talents and interests and nurture them Assist and support parents and staff in nurturing children’s gifts, talents and interests Communicate consistently with parent/guardians Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment Other duties as assigned Qualifications:
Be at least eighteen years old
High school diploma or equivalent
ECE initial certificate or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry by the department within five years of the date this section becomes effective, or five years from being employed or promoted into this position at any licensed early learning program
ECE short certificate within two years of receiving an ECE initial certificate, or seven years from being employed or promoted into this position at any licensed early learning program
