We are a small, non-profit child development center in Southington, CT, and are looking to grow our staff with the right candidates. Our preschool teachers are responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns. The ideal candidate is also familiar with CT ELDS, DOTS, and NAEYC. This is a full time, M-F, 35 hour a week position, with working hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Salary is based upon experience and education.
