Champion Distinctive Landscaping Design & Care is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Landscape Project Coordinator within our Install Division who will work closely with our Lead Estimator and Director. This is a great opportunity to obtain on the job experience and training from seasoned landscape professionals.
This position will be assigned certain responsibilities relating to the design and management of all projects assigned to them. This entails project objectives, standards, schedules, budgets, and innovative design.
The Landscape Project Manager will assist in preparing sketches, preliminary and full plans, specifications, construction documents. This position will also support sales efforts, conducting due diligence on potential clients, vendors, partners, pricing, etc. and proposing the most viable opportunities for implementation. The Landscape Project Manager position will also be in close coordination with securing materials and field construction activities to ensure quality built environments and attention to aesthetics.
Design Responsibilities:
• Generating (or assisting in) design concepts, softscape & hardscape arrangements, and details of construction under the direction of the Director.
• Presentation quality graphics including hand and computer generated, color renderings, details, and vignettes.
• Technical input during the proposal and construction document development phases
• Communication with vendors, subcontractors, crew leads, admin staff, etc.
• Familiarity with industry practices and terminology
• Strong use of plant material suitable for the climate and soils
• Proficiency in grading and drainage including preparing grading plans, layout, material choices, construction methods, etc.
• Preparation of complete sets of Construction Documents
• Proficiency in design software and other industry related computer programs
Management Responsibilities:
• Review plans and perform material take-offs
• Request pricing from suppliers and acquire quotes from vendors
• Review online sources for bidding opportunities
• Compile submittals as required for job
• Liaison with field managers and procurement
• Provide in-field observations and reports
• Prepare project close-out documents
Background, Experience and Knowledge:
• The ideal candidate has mid-level experience with a degree in one of the following: Construction Management, Horticulture, Business, Ag-business, and Landscape Architecture or similar.
• Prior experience on a landscape installation team as a laborer or crew leader preferred
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Good written and verbal communication
• Customer relations and communication
• Plant material identification and use
• Equipment knowledge and operational skills preferred (i.e.: skid steer, excavator, etc. – Bobcat type equipment)
Other Requirements:
• English and Spanish speaking preferred
• Champion is a Drug Free work environment
• The estimator will show willingness and capability of continuing education through workshops, classes, and professional memberships
• Excellent presentation skills
• Computer software including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office/Word/Excel/Outlook, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
• Valid driver’s license and US work authorization Required
