As a Job Coach, you'll play a pivotal role in our person-centered approach to Job Coaching, empowering individuals to maximize their strengths and eliminate barriers through adaptation and customized training.

Your Role as a Job Coach:

As a Job Coach at TVWInc., you will be the guiding light for individuals embarking on their professional journeys. Your role will encompass:

Mentorship: Provide invaluable guidance and support to job seekers, helping them navigate their roles with confidence.

Customized Training: Tailor your coaching to the unique needs and strengths of each individual, ensuring they thrive in their work environments.

Adaptation: Be flexible and creative in finding solutions to challenges, helping job seekers overcome barriers to success.

Advocacy: Serve as a passionate advocate for our diverse client base, championing their rights and opportunities in the workplace.

Community Impact: Witness the transformational effect of your coaching on the lives of job seekers and their surrounding communities.

Essential Functions:

Promote TVW’s Mission and Values

Engage in the pre-planning of job requirements and tasks and evaluate each in terms of the specific job seeker/supported employee’s capabilities

Complete task analysis and break down and/or sequence required tasks as necessary to facilitate understanding, learning, and mastery based on the specific needs of the individual

Provide on-site training and initial/ongoing support using systematic instruction to the individual and employer as needed

Maintain positive and professional relationships with supported individuals, TVW team members, and others with whom you interact

Developing natural supports and natural cues that will enable the individual to work independently to the greatest possible extent and creating a systematic strategy for “fading” from the workplace

Provide training and support when job tasks change

Follow all individual emergency procedures and health protocols and obtain access to emergency medical assistance as needed for those receiving employment support

Promote the development of ongoing positive relationships and natural support with key co-workers in supported employee’s place of employment

Assist the Career Development Services Manager by providing information for the annual ISP that establishes goals and outlines any ongoing support needs for the individual

Work with the career development team to address any issues both work-related and non-work-related, that could potentially jeopardize the employment relationship.

Participate in weekly TVW staff meetings. Provide input to the career development team, work collaboratively, and share accountability for the success of the team

Maintained up-to-date case notes, records, and other assigned paperwork.

Act as a model for and advocate for supported individuals’ rights and choices

Participate in the Career Development process, including Discovery, Portfolio creation, and VR assessments as assigned by Career Development Services Manager

Develop relationships with employers, potential employers, and the business community to promote the abilities of the person pursuing employment

Meet mission funding requirements and timelines.

Participate in networking, fundraising events, and We See Ability tours as scheduled by the CDS Manager.

Carry out additional responsibilities as identified and assigned

Mandatory Qualifications:

Must possess a valid Oregon Driver’s License, personal vehicle insurance, and be insurable under TVW insurance policy to drive vehicles.

Must pass a criminal history background check

Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing

Must be CPR certified and maintain certification throughout employment

Must be OSI certified and maintain certification throughout employment

Desired Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability by education and/or experience to work with people with significant challenges or barriers to employment toward successful employment outcomes.

Knowledge, ability, and desire to work respectfully with people with disabilities

Ability to relate to a diverse set of situations and individuals.

Preference is given to employees who are fluent bilingually, both orally and in writing.

Self-directed and able to work independently and interdependently as required.

Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.

We are currently seeking skilled and bilingual Spanish speakers to join our team as job coaches, dedicated to supporting our Spanish-speaking clients in achieving their employment goals. As a job coach, you will be responsible for providing personalized guidance and training to clients, facilitating their job search process, and helping them build the skills necessary for success in the workforce. Strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and a passion for making a difference in people's lives are essential qualities we are looking for in potential candidates. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
