International Logistics Specialist
The Block Logistics, a leading NVOCC/Freight Forwarder to Fortune 500 clientele in Salt Lake City, UT, is looking to hire a motivated Logistics Specialist to work as an Export and Import Operations Specialist.
Responsibilities
As an Export and Import Operations Specialist here at The Block Logistics, typical tasks include coordinating directly with agents, freight handlers, air and ocean carriers, and inland transportation carriers to provide the best customer service support to our diverse range of clientele. This position requires a fast learner with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced and ever changing environment.
- Coordinate, book, track, manage and provide reporting of international and domestic shipments as well as review documentation to prevent and eliminate errors.
- Timely and accurate responses to clients for all matters, to include carrier mishandling, investigations, and problem resolution
- Work with vendors and agents to ensure successful completion of delivery service within our internal guidelines and metrics while identifying opportunities for freight cost reduction
- Maintain relationships with customers and help assist sales with customer growth
- Maintain relationships with local, national, and international agents and vendors
- Support the development and integration of new customers.
Requirements and Expectations:
- One to two years of export or import logistics experience.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and behaviors that are conducive to a service/team-oriented environment (e.g., diplomacy, tact, flexibility, positive approach)
- Ability to plan and meet deadlines as well as prioritize, and handle several projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Strong ability to adapt to change and work in a fast paced organization
- Attention to detail
- Moderate computer skills (E-mail, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Pro-active demeanor - Strong problem resolution skills
- Ability to work independently under general supervision
