Human Resources Generalist

Watson Memorial Home is a 25 bed Personal Care Home (long term care facility) for senior ladies. The Home employees 45-48 people to care for the ladies living in the Home.

Currently Watson Memorial Home is searching for a Human Resources Generalist. This is a newly developed position and department and this individual will work directly with the Administrator of the Home. Please see the full job description below.

Job Description
Human Resources Generalist

Department: Administrative

Reports To: Facility Administrator

Summary: The Human Resources Generalist shall implement, manage, and maintain the Human Resource department and all pertaining functions thereof.

Essential Job Duties/General Functions:

Manage daily Human Resources activity
Maintain HRIS including onboarding and offboarding of Team Members
Manage all benefit plans
Assist Administrator, Directors, and Supervisors with Team Members and department needs
Be a Resident Advocate
Essential Job Duties/HRIS, Timekeeping, Payroll

Maintain accurate records in HRIS
Enter all new Team Members in HRIS and timeclock in a timely manner
Develop various reports to assist Administrator, Directors, and Supervisors
Process bi-weekly payroll
Monitor and validate PTO balances
Essential Job Duties/Benefits

Ensure benefits are presented to new Team Members in a timely manner
Assist Team Members with general questions or concerns
Provide contact information for specific benefit providers or client services
Lead annual Open Enrollment;
Collaborate with Administrator to solicit and determine the best plan for the organization
Present plans to Team Members and update Team Member profiles
Essential Job Duties/Recruitment

Collaborates with Administrator, Directors, and Supervisors to determine department needs and identify potential deficiencies
Maintain and update job descriptions to accurately describe roles within the department and clearly identify necessary qualifications and job requirements
Utilize various recruitment options including but not limited to social media, job posting boards, educational programs and/or institutions and networking connections
Pre-screen candidates for review by Department Managers and Supervisors
Assist with interview and final selection process
Essential Job Duties/Onboarding

Guide new Team Members through the orientation process including but not limited to Relias training, new hire paperwork, and timekeeping
Conduct New Hire Orientation
Assist Department Managers and Supervisors with New Hire Transition
Follow-up with Team Members progress and encourage open communication
Essential Job Duties/Training

Assist Team Members with completion timeline for Relias and other regulatory training
Collaborate with Administrator, Directors, and Supervisors to develop individual development plans for all Team Members
Continue Leadership Training Program
Essential Job Duties/Offboarding

Accept Team Member resignations
Conduct Exit Interview
Complete Exit Package with Team Member
Additional Job Duties:

Other duties as assigned or deemed necessary
Assist Team Members with Safety Drills
Be a Resident Advocate
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position is required to be collaborative, cooperative, and a Leader for all Team Members, Directors, and Supervisors
Maintain professionalism with Team Members, Directors, and Supervisors at all times; especially during all Human Resource related investigations and disciplinary actions
Serve as a designated person when the Administrator is not onsite or available
Education and/or Experience (include certs or licenses needed):

Associate Degree in Human Resources Management; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
SPHR preferred
3-5 years in an active Human Resources role
Personal Care Home Administrator License or ability to obtain one is preferred. Watson Memorial Home will assist to obtain this license.

Must be flexible with the ability to adapt to change when required
Must be well groomed and properly attired
Must have reliable transportation/ability to get to work and phone
Must be able to communicate in English
Able and willing to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt service
Able and willing to work cooperatively with other Team Members from all departments
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk consistently throughout an average workday
