Head Lifeguard
The Swimming Swan is looking for experienced Head Lifeguards to work at the Palo Alto Elks Lodge community pool. Job responsibilities include supervising lifeguards and swim instructors on duty, aiding in staff in-service training, and ideally teaching lifeguard certification courses.
DETAILS
Seasonal Full-Time: Memorial Day - Labor Day 2023
Up to 30-40 per week (part-time also available)
Pool Hours: 7:45 AM - 7:15 PM, 7 days a week
Duties: lifeguarding pool area teaching group swim lessons to students ages 2+
We offer 50% reimbursement on all certification courses for new hires.
$300 Bonus: qualify with a full season of work (Summer 2023)
QUALIFICATIONS
Ages 18+ with a High school Diploma or equivalent
2+ years of lifeguard and/or swim instructor experience required
Current ARC or equivalent Lifeguard certification required
Current Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred
Current (or ability to obtain) an ARC Lifeguard Management training and Lifeguard Instructor certification within 30 days of hire
1+ year experience in a leadership role preferred
Ability to pass pre-employment verbal, swim, and in-water skills tests
