FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

Garden City Monument is a 102 year old family run business. We are currently looking for a full time Monument Designer.

Responsibilities

·         Create digital renderings of portraits, graphics, illustration, and design files for engraving granite memorials using existing design and component files, specific examples provided by customers and creates specific files as needed.

·         Understands the effects of colors, shadows, and gray scales in photographs and how they affect the engraved results.

·         Artistic talent with a strong understanding of design in relation to portrait, scenic and drawing elements

·         Reads and interprets rubbings, drawing or electronic files provided by customers.

·         Create, revise, and modify illustrations and designs for product concept renderings.

·         Prepare and assist in productions of technical illustrations for detailed projects or products.

·         Ensure proper communications and obtain approves from customers regarding specific graphics.

·         Proofing of text, corrections and confirmation of sizes, colors and textures have been meet to customers’ expectations.

·         Monitor/ Review/ Reply to email, faxes, message by customers.

·         Input, monitors, and reviews data relating to the order process, tracks daily productivity and quality of outcomes.

·         Dependability is a must.

Education

·         HS Diploma plus experience with Graphic Design, Graphic Illustration, Fine Arts or Design Memorial experience is a helpful.

Skills and Knowledge

·         Computer knowledge including but not limited to Graphic Design Software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop). CAD software knowledge.

·         We are willing to train the right person that knows some of this design software.

Job Type:

·         Full Time

·         Starting $18.00 per hour depending on experience
