Sailing Captain
We're looking for a full-time Captain for the 2022 sailing season (April through October). We're a small 6-passenger tour operation in Baltimore and we're looking for a fit and eager individual to serve as crew. We�re expanding this season with a second boat. Seeking a USCG licensed Captain (OUPV ot Master with Sailing Endorsement). The position is four days on, three days off.
The first boat is a steel-hulled 48' Tom Colvin Gazelle schooner. She has a Chinese Junk rig, which makes her a unique tourist attraction. The second boat is a 39� Ted Brewer Lazyjack schooner. We�re doing a major refit now for this season. We do as many as 5 90-minute sails in Baltimore Harbor five days a week.
This is a live-aboard position. The Captain is responsible for the safe operation of the vessel, regular maintenance, training and development of crew and courteous, professional, and friendly interactions with our guests. The Captain is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all COVID-19 related safety rules for passengers and crew. Captains and deckhands will rotate among both boats during each week. Each member of the crew must belong to our random drug testing program. We cover all drug testing fees. Captain compensation is $1200 per week.
