General Description: As an Animal Technician you will help assist the Manager and other Animal Care Technicians in our upper barn. You will also learn about other roles in the barn as your training continues. You should maintain professionalism, keep a positive attitude, and effectively communicate with other Animal Technicians in the barn to be part of a cohesive team.

Responsibilities include:

Ability to follow & complete checklists
Feeding and watering the dogs
Cleaning of poop and pee
Controlling noise levels -both inside and outside of the building
Cleaning, sweeping, mopping, washing laundry and dog dishes
Being able to stay outside with dogs during rotations
Grooming basics-ear cleaning, nail trims, brushouts, bathing, drying
Administering medications and/or vitamins
Walking dogs
Playing with dogs
Assisting with puppies in upper
Socializing puppies in upper
Completing other tasks that are delegated by the Managers

Qualifications:

-Veterinary student internships/externships (hands on experience!), people who are studying to go into a career with animals, Dog Trainers are considered highly qualified. Pay will be based on experience.

-Must hold yourself to high standards, be willing to be held accountable for your work and have a flexible schedule

-Must love dogs and be a good human being!

-Must take initiative and get all tasks completed

-Must be able to multi-task quickly and concisely but also with attention to detail

-Must be a team player and good communicator

-Must be able to handle constructive feedback and adjust behavior(s) as needed

-Must be able to lift 40 lbs or more

-Must be very responsible and very reliable. The dogs and puppies can never be left without supervision.

-Must have experience with dogs, even your own dog(s) count. If you have dogs or cats, you�ll need to show proof that they are up to date on their vaccinations.

-MUST have a positive attitude.
