Responsibilities

  • Provide prevention, intervention & mediation services.
  • Ex: Facilitate mediations between students, between students and teachers, etc.
  • Ex: Intervene in conflicts, work with students closely to prevent conflicts, etc.
  • Offer coaching, technical assistance, and support to the community and youth to facilitate restorative practices, intervention, and prevention services.
  • Assist with developing tools for best practices such as templates, videos, and presentations.
  • Provide professional development workshops for community members and youth.
  • Conduct follow-up meetings with community members and youth.
  • Including Home Visitations when necessary.
  • Lead Interventions for at-risk adolescents and their families needing support, mentoring, life skills development, and coaching.
  • Collaborate effectively with the other community organizations, county services, and wrap-around services to establish continuity of care and needed referrals for the students and their families with attention to cultural relevance and competency.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage others, problem-solve and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with youth & families from different diverse cultures, neighborhoods, and varying ethnic groups.
  • Ability to work as part of a team that includes city departments, community-based organizations, school staff, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflict, including dealing with uncooperative clients.
  • Ability to work a regular schedule provided by your direct supervisor.
  • Prior experience working with youth and community.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience working with at-risk families/individuals.
  • Must be able to work individually and on a team.
  • Basic computer competency.
  • Manage time well.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

 

  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and transportation.
