Job Title: Ranch/Farm Hand

Location: Eastern WA Rural Farm/Ranch (Ellensburg/Kittitas, WA)

Full Time Position, Hours: Typically, Mon-Sat, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Additional hours as needed/by season

Pay Range: $18-$25/Hour, Depending on Experience/Skills

Pay every two weeks via direct deposit. 

Paid Sick leave

1-week paid vacation after 1 year of employment

Two weekends off per month based on a rotating schedule with the rest of crew. 

Position Start Date: May/June 2024

Responsibilities:

Assist in various tasks related to Seedstock cattle care, including feeding, health assessments, breeding program support, and general Herd management

Help manage rotational grazing, pasture maintenance, and contribute to the implementation of breeding and calving programs for the cattle herd

Perform ranch maintenance tasks, including grounds/facility upkeep, equipment operation, and fencing to maintain superior standards.

Support alfalfa and timothy production tasks such as planting, harvesting, irrigation, fertilization, and field maintenance

Operate and maintain farm equipment specific to crop cultivation and cattle management, insuring functionality and safety.

Collaborate with the team to execute tasks efficiently and meet operational goals across both the ranching and farming activities

Requirements:

Previous experience in ranching and farming or related agricultural work is advantageous

Familiarity with cattle handling, pasture management, and crop production (primarily Alfalfa and Timothy hay) is beneficial.

Ability to operate and maintain ranch and farm machinery and equipment.

Physical fitness and adaptability to perform diverse tasks involving outdoor work and lifting 50+ Ibs regularly in various weather conditions

Strong work ethic, reliability, and proactive attitude towards learning and contributing to all Ranch and Farm operations

Ability and willingness to embrace new technologies to help advance the operations.

Ability to work effectively within a team while following instructions thoroughly.

A personal vehicle is required due to the nature of our remote location.

An On-site vehicle is provided while you are on the clock. 

Must be able to pass a Drug test and a Criminal Background check.

6-Month paid trial hire period, additional incentives and time off available after the first 12 Month period successfully completed

Availability to work holidays and night hours when needed.

Must be an U.S. Citizen.

High School Diploma or GED required

Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently

Preferred Qualifications:

Education or certification in agriculture, livestock management, or related fields.

Experience with herd record-keeping, Livestock/crop management, and agricultural practices

Knowledge of safety protocols related to Ranch and Farm equipment and Machinery
