Harlem Horticulture is a garden design, installation, and maintenance company working primarily in Manhattan, but with a handful of gardens in the surrounding suburbs - Westchester, CT, and Long Island. We are seeking a horticulturist or gardener to assist with day-to-day field operations which primarily includes helping with new garden installations and general garden maintenance. The ideal candidate will have formal training or experience in horticulture, but we will consider candidates who are enthusiastic about plants and interested in learning. Though the work is fun, it is a labor intensive job so candidates should be able to do physically demanding tasks even in the heat of summer. We start work between 8:00a and 9:00a varying each day, and end between 4:00p and 6:30p depending on the time of year and how busy we are. We are very considerate of your life outside of work and will do our best to accommodate your schedule needs if given fair notice. This a seasonal position with work beginning the second half of March into early December. We pay at the hourly rate of $25+ / hour, depending on experience.
