Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN) for a travel assignment. As an MS/Tele RN, you will provide high-quality care to patients with cardiac and stroke diagnoses. This position requires competency in phlebotomy and IV placement, as these are essential skills at Unity Hospital. The role includes monitoring patients’ vital signs, interpreting dysrhythmias, and collaborating with a team to manage patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in the Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias
• Perform routine procedures such as phlebotomy and IV placement
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Provide non-invasive airway management and oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, face masks)
• Assist with peripheral line care, Hoyer lift use, and other daily activities
• Participate in the Rapid Response Team when necessary
• Follow proper isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient management and care coordination
• Float between MS, ICU, and ED as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Med-Surg or Telemetry nursing
• BLS certification required
• Competency in phlebotomy and IV placement
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Comfort with using Rapid Response Teams
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• No local candidates (must be more than 75 miles away)
• Weekend availability required (Every Other Weekend)
• No holiday RTO and a maximum of 7 days off
• Ability to float between MS, ICU, and ED as needed
• Preferred experience in cardiac and stroke care
