Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Porter/Floor Care to join our team at Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center! As a member of our housekeeping team, you will perform daily activities to ensure our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.

6a-2p schedule with weekly pay at $18 an hour.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure residents' rooms are neat, clean, and free from odor

• Perform daily wet mopping, shampooing, and extracting carpets

• Buff floors and attend to spills immediately

• Empty trash liners and clean containers

• Clean bed and rails with disinfectant

• Clean countertops, windowsills, bedside tables, furniture, and over-the-bed

• Strip, seal, and refinish floors as scheduled

• Clean floor edges and corners to prevent build-up

• Clean windows and mirrors

• Clean personal items, pictures, decorations, flowers, etc.

Requirements:

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism

• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and visitors

• Ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and housekeeping areas

• Ability to perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for sanitation, order, and safety

• Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel and handle residents based on their maturity level

• Ability to seek out and accept new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, and cleaning instructions

• Ability to communicate information effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations
