The State of South Carolina is seeking an Advanced Database Administrator (Senior SQL Server DBA) to support application migration, modernization initiatives, and day-to-day maintenance of existing systems. This role will focus on database management, security, performance optimization, and enterprise data solutions.
· Support application migration and modernization initiatives.
· Provide day-to-day database administration and support for existing systems.
· Manage database backup and restore processes.
· Administer database roles, permissions, and security configurations.
· Develop and maintain database solutions using T-SQL.
· Monitor database performance and optimize system functionality.
· Support data integration and database version/platform migrations.
· Ensure data protection, security, and compliance standards are maintained.
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (relevant experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis).
· 5+ years experience as a Senior SQL Server DBA.
· 1+ year experience migrating application databases between versions and platforms.
· 5+ years experience with database backup and restore processes.
· Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
· Experience managing roles, permissions, and encryption.
· Strong T-SQL proficiency.
· Experience implementing Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
· Database design and normalization experience.
· PowerShell experience.
