Mechanical Project Manager

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects in the Lenexa and greater Kansas City area. This role oversees projects from planning through closeout, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $90,000–$140,000 annually

Key Responsibilities - Commercial Mechanical Project Manager

  • Manage HVAC, plumbing, and process piping projects from initiation through completion
  • Lead field staff and subcontractors while maintaining budget, schedule, and quality controls
  • Coordinate project scheduling, resources, and construction activities across multiple sites
  • Track project financials, profitability, and change orders
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal teams

Qualifications- Commercial Mechanical Project Manager

  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical construction project management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction, mechanical engineering, or related field OR 5+ years of mechanical trade experience or equivalent combination
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Solid understanding of contracts, budgeting, and safety compliance

Preferred Qualifications- Commercial Mechanical Project Manager

  • PMP or CCM certification
  • Experience with commercial mechanical systems in healthcare, education, or industrial facilities
  • Proficiency with project management software and BIM
  • Knowledge of mechanical codes, OSHA standards, and industry best practices
  • Experience with design-build and value engineering

Physical Requirements- Commercial Mechanical Project Manager

  • 15–20% regional travel to jobsites and company offices
  • Ability to navigate active construction sites and climb stairs
  • Occasional exposure to varying weather and construction conditions
  • Effective communication in person, by phone, and in writing
