\nRadiology Technologist FT Rotating Position Summary
\nTakes radiologic films providing quality images to physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems.
\nResponsibilities
\nPrepares and positions patients for x-rays and selects exposure factors accurately.
\nPrepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
\nObserves patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity.
\nMonitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
\nFollows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
\nPrevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
\nChecks for accuracy of ordered exams by comparing to written physician order.
\nVerifies correct patient by two forms of identity verification, prior to injecting patient or starting exam.
\nMaintains patient confidentiality per established CHN policies regarding HIPAA rights and practices.
\nMaintains proper oxygen therapy on patients who require oxygen.
\nMaintain skills required to change oxygen tanks.
\nMust be able to use masks and nasal canula.
\nAdjusts rate of O2 flow with mask/nasal canula according to written physician orders.
\nSecures and safely transports e-cylinders.
\nAccesses electronic patient health record via current system.
\nInputs and processes requisitions.
\nInputs all relevant information and provides film/imaging history to physician, as appropriate.
\nExpectations for operating room: Manipulates/operates all C-arms, troubleshoots errors with equipment, performs sterile technique while operating C-arm, assists circulating RN as needed, prints films from C-arm when needed, archives images to PACS from C-arm, sets-up C-arm with all patient information, positions C-arm to the surgeons specifications, locates/documents patient dose.
\nTHE RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST FT ROTATING CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
\nEDUCATION
\nRequired: Graduate of an accredited radiology program.
\nCERTIFICATION
\nRequired: ARRT- R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) and AZ Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (MRTBE)- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT).
\nRequired: Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
\nWORK EXPERIENCE
\nRequired: The experience acquired during radiology program and student clinical training.
