Job Description:
As a Technician at Spaulding Decon, your role will be a dynamic mix of responsibilities, where compassion, resilience, and adaptability are key. Your tasks will include assisting in crime scene cleanup, biohazard decontamination, drug lab testing and decontamination, hoarding cleanup, mold remediation, water remediation, and more. This is a job that offers a new challenge every day, from cleaning up after law enforcement investigations to helping families regain control of their lives.
Previous experience in construction, restoration, carpentry, or similar fields is a plus, but not essential. What we truly value is your willingness to learn and use hand and power tools since our work combines cleaning and occasional demolition.
Requirements:
- Physical fitness: You must be capable of moving furniture and equipment, even in PPE and challenging weather conditions.
- Proximity: Reside within 45 minutes of our office in Fishers or be able to reach job sites in your vehicle.
- Flexibility: Be prepared for night and weekend shifts as needed, depending on the situation.
- License and history: Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean criminal record.
- Versatility: In addition to hazardous cleanup, you'll also engage in non-hazardous tasks like painting, stocking supplies, and community outreach.
- Independence: This role requires you to work autonomously.
- Health precautions: You must be vaccinated for Hepatitis B; we cover the cost if needed. Additionally, we provide training in Bloodborne Pathogens, personal protective equipment, and respirator use.
