We are looking for a compassionate, creative, local adult to work part time with young adults with developmental disabilities as a Life Coach in Bethesda and Rockville MD. The primary job duties of the Life Coach involve providing direct one-on-one support and training to enable the individual with developmental disabilities to gain further independent living skills. This job requires someone who is compassionate about special needs and understands patience.

Integrated Living Opportunities is a non-profit and you will be joining the initiative to integrate adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) into the community.

The pay will be $21 for approximately 22 hours per week. We have a specific need to meet with one of our self-advocates on Tuesdays from10am-230pm and Fridays from 11:30-4:00; a second Self-Advocate for four hours on Thursdays from 2:30-6:30, a third Self-Advocate on Saturdays for four hours, and 2 hours of Life Coaching per week for two Self-Advocates that are roommates. On Sundays there is an additional 1 to 1.5 hours of support needed for either a bowling or yoga event. Over the summer there will be a few weekday hours coming up for a six week period. The summer hours are TBD. This job begins as soon as possible.

Examples of Responsibilities:

* Work individually with participants each week to facilitate growth and development in the areas of independent living. The day and time to meet will be determined by your and the participant�s schedule.

* Support the self-advocate to set their weekly schedule, incorporating activities from all the areas of the Full Life Model.

* Basic cooking will be taught or overseen by the Life Coach.
Basic finances will be taught or overseen by the Life Coach.
Problem solving with self-advocates will be an important duty of the Life Coach.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in human service related field -- PREFERRED
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities -- REQUIRED
Strength-based thinking - Able to focus on individual's abilities and assets
Good organizational skills
Creative, open approach to the job
Willingness to work as part of a team
Flexible schedule
Skilled listener
Energetic and positive
Valid driver's license, vehicle in working condition, insurance to cover transporting individual
CPR and First Aid qualified -- REQUIRED
Pass a background check
Proof of citizenship or right to work
